Five Towers

Cinque Torri is one of my favorite photo spots in the Dolomites, especially for night photography. This panorama encompasses not only Cinque Torri but also beautiful and mighty Tofana di Rozes (3225m). And it also shows natural colors of nebulae – but some of them are drowned in light pollution (e.g. the Heart and the Soul).

In the overhead we can find, for example, the Elephant's Trunk and also a very interesting area of the constellation of the Swan with the distinctive North America Nebula (NGC 7000).

The photo has been awarded 2× Honorable Mention at “The International Photography Awards” 2019 in Los Angeles, Gold and Silver Medal at “Tokyo International Foto Awards” 2019, Bronze Medal at “Fine Art Photography Awards” 2019 in London and Bronze Medal at “Moscow International Foto Awards” 2020 in Moscow.

Panorama compiled from total of 27 frames (12 stacked and averaged exposures of stars in one row, 15 stacked and averaged landscape exposures in the second row; 2-level focus bracketing).

Equipment: Nikon D750, Carl Zeiss Milvus 25/1.4
