The Fog Fall in the Dolomites

During a private 1-on-1 expedition in the fall of 2024, the weather wasn’t exactly on our side at first. Fortunately, the expedition participant, a fellow photographer from Canada, remained patient and didn’t panic.

The forecast for our second-to-last sunrise didn’t look too promising. Still, something told us to check the webcams in the middle of the night. Good call! One of the valleys was filled with a stunning inversion, and above it—a sky full of stars. So, we jumped out of bed, grabbed our gear, and rushed out to capture the pre-sunrise and sunrise moments. Here’s the first panorama—shot just before the sun came up.

Panorama compiled from total of 72 frames (3-level exposure bracketing of 24 frames in two rows).
