Milky Way versus Aurora Borealis
I'm not sure to what extent this photo will be visually appealing, but for me, it's very interesting for several reasons. Anyone who has experienced the Northern Lights knows that they are very diverse. Both in color and movement, sometimes flickering very quickly, other times staying in place for long minutes. And that was precisely the case here. Moreover, only once in Iceland have I witnessed the Milky Way in close proximity to the Northern Lights. The edges of the Northern Lights were shining with their typical reddish color, which tinted the entire Milky Way red. A phenomenon I had never seen before. And last but not least, the panorama was taken on a moonless night, but the Northern Lights were shining so brightly that they cast shadows on the water. Simply several peculiarities at once, and I was just watching, almost forgetting to take pictures.
Panorama compiled from total of 9 frames (9 frames in two rows, 2-level focus bracketing).
