Put on your Skates

I really love this spot in the Lofoten Islands. We stop here every winter during our photo expeditions to Lofoten. This was the case again this year in 2024, and we will definitely return with photo expeditions and workshops in 2025. However, photographing here isn’t easy. Why? It’s very difficult to catch the right conditions. It’s either too warm, and the ice melts, or it’s too cold, and the surface becomes one large unbroken sheet of ice with no cracks or texture. Or, there might be 30 cm of snow on the ice, making it invisible. This year, we were lucky - the ice cracked just enough to create beautiful textures on the surface.
