Surrounded
Tuscany is simply beautiful. Last year I spent almost two weeks in the Chianti area. On an expedition in April this year I focused more on the Montepulciano area with its excellent “Vino di Nobile Montepulciano“. The combination of the beauty of nature with excellent wine, that's what I call perfection.
Just for the record. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a fine wine that has earned the nickname “wine of kings” and is considered one of the oldest in Italy. It is made from the Sangiovese grape variety (minimum 70%). The resulting wine must be aged in oak barrels for 2 years (Riserva 3 years) before it is put on the market. The more basic range is Vino Rosso di Montepulciano, which is more suited to everyday sipping than sophisticated tasting. This is not to say that Vino Rosso di Montepulciano is bad. On the contrary. For wine lovers who are new to wine tasting and haven't yet found their way into full-bodied, extractive red wines with distinct tannins, Rosso is the perfect start to getting acquainted with Montepulciano winemaking.
I originally wanted to start with a more traditional composition, but with the fresh spring colors all around us...
